Building a Primary School
A Home of Hope primary school situated in Ngaramtoni will bring great change to the lives of many children in this community. With ongoing support from PROJECT NEEMA, this primary school can provide a top quality primary level education for many children of Ngaramtoni who otherwise would not have had access.
Many young women in Ngaramtoni do not have an education and therefore can only earn, at best, a small sum of money by working as a housemaid in other families. Many see only one possible way to secure their livelihood and that is prostitution. If these girls and young women get the chance to learn to sew, they will be able to use this skill to find work that will earn them enough money so that they can quit prostitution.
The most important basic human needs are food and water. Unfortunately many families in Ngaramtoni are unable to provide adequate nutrition and safe drinking water and their children suffer from hunger and malnutrition. Since the construction of the kitchen at the Home of Hope Nursery School site in January 2011 it has been our objective to provide the children with a hot, nutritious meal and clean drinking water at least three times a week.
Dairy Goat Pass-on Project
In June 2015 we started an exciting new project featuring GOATS!
Every family who receives a goat from PROJECT NEEMA will pass their first two female goat offspring (called “doelings”) on to other vulnerable families in the community, who in turn will pass their first two doelings on to other families, and so on…
